Storm before the calm

Another chapter of my life will soon begin. As for now, seems like the preparation to usher this change is hardly taking flight. More to come as the days follow. As I consciously make arrangements for a smooth transition, I cannot help but be burdened by thoughts and feeling of desertion. Even if the decisions that we make is justified, we often times sacrifice much more than the rewards that we may reap. Thus the question, "When do we think with our heads and when do we think with our hearts?".
I would like to believe that one should never think with the heart. The heart is nothing but an organ that delivers blood. The head, on the other hand, is the central processing unit. The head (brain) process our emotions, judgements, and reaction. Thus, it is quite safe to say that the heart does not "feel". Here is part of the answer to the question, "What part of the brain responds to feelings?".

"Feeling such as anger and fear is "modulated" in septum pellucidum and amygdala respectively. These two components are part of the human limbic system located between midbrain and forebrain. Whereas the depth of perception, judgement and morality are controlled by many areas in frontal lobe."

No matter what the answer is, humans are creatures of feelings. Our decisions and sentiments will always be swayed.

Try as I might, this day as I post my thought, I know that I have made one right decision. The changes and consequences that ensues will hardly be a surprise.

Nothing lasts forever. Most importantly, know when to quit. Kenny Rogers sing, "... Know when to hold 'em, know when to fold 'em, know when to walk away, know when to run...". When it all ends, know that time will filter out the broken pieces and leaves us with the good.

Appreciate. To all the lovers of the world, love like you'll never love again.
